Video post!

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

I've often thought that it might be hard to get an idea of all the cool things Luice Design can do with their printing, by simply looking at photos. That's why I'm showing you some videos recently published that display in full motion video, the powerful effects of these awesome new printing techniques they're using.

This particular card is showcasing three different techniques. No ink used on the front side. Simply awesome.

And while we're on the subject of videos...here's another one! Some words of advice...intense, yes. Is the dude kind of a jerk? Definitely. Is he totally and absolutely right about what he's saying about business card design. Ohhh yeah.

And just because this is one my all time favorite movies, the famous "business card scene" from American Pyscho.

The video speaks for itself. American Psycho business card scene.

Patrick Bateman is a whacko!

The power of attraction

Luice Design has a new product their selling and it's really really cool. What a dumb way to describe it but I can't think of anything else to say except just that.

Sticky-Magnetic-Business-Cards-Luice-Design

Magnetic business cards! Stick 'em on your fridge or anywhere else. I know that's a good idea for me because I'm constantly going to the fridge. This is perfect for restaurant or other food-type businesses. The kind of thing you want your customers to slap on the fridge so they can call you to order food.

It doesn't have to be limited to food-based businesses though. Think of all the possibilities. Appliance repair. Bars. Clubs. Parties. Anything! These cards will stick...literally...in your customer's mind.

Plus you can use 'em to hang other stuff up on the fridge. A kid's drawing, a bill, whatever. Your business card will become a tool that's going to stick around (haha I love puns) for a long time.

Seriously hot cards….oh my!

Sometimes you've gotta stick to your guns and that's when the industry stand comes in handy...for cards like these. A thick 16pt business card with full UV coating is a great way to show off a card like this.

Beautiful full bleed, a great design, and a bitchin hot babe. The whole thing needs to shine. And it does!

Luice Design shows us how colors, bright and brilliant are enhanced by adding a full UV coat. The card just calls out to you in the light. It really does!

Luice Design has done it yet again and created another excellent example of how they are masters of their trade.

The 12mm plastic business card stock choice goes really really well with the black foil printing used on the front side. Both printing styles compliment the beautiful graphic design to create a very memorable piece.

You might be thinking to yourself that I'm speaking of these cards as I would speak of a painting or any  important work of art. Well, these are exactly that. Works of art!

Bravo!

Spot the UV? I do!

Using the UV coat can really help your business card shine! Either coat the entire dang thing with UV and make it look totally glossy, shiny, etc.....or do what Luice Design did with these cool Tattoo appointment/business cards and do spot UV printing.

On a 16 pt. business card, thick as all bloody heck, the spot UV pops out at the selection. What's also cool is that you can still write on the card. If you apply UV to the whole card, it sort of makes it hard to write on. The ink just wipes right off.

But this is the best of both worlds. You can still write on the matte parts, and get the shine where it's needed most.

Less is more!

Cuttin’ corners? I don’t think so.

Are you thinking about your next printing project, party, or event and want to create something totally unique? Something that no one's ever done or will ever do?

Give a shout to Luice Design with your ideas and they'll help you come up with something that's so unique, everyone you give it to will drop their jaws in disbelief. They'll never throw out that flyer and it'll be a party they'll never forget. Check out this die cut flyer they printed recently.

Why waste money on plain old sqaure paper, when you can stand out with some curves like this beauty. The circle die cut here works great for the vinyl LP design. I mean, it actually looks like you could just put it on your turntable and start scratching..."rikki rikki rikki!"

When you take the time to create something like this, you're creating a memorable item that your customers will absolutely hold on to. You don't want just another flyer that'll get tossed in the garbage...or on the ground for everyone to step on. No. You want something quality that everyone is going to remember, keep, show their friends and family.

"Check out this flyer...here's proof that I'm going to the most badass party around. You should come with me."

Instant success.

More of the same? Not really!

I just can't get enough and here's another shining example (heh, literally!) of the wondrously new and inventive things you can do with the  full color foil process printing at Luice Design.

CMYK-Full-Color-Foil-Greeting-Card-Silver-Luice-Design-Shine-Cake

Check it out! This is another great silver foil shine, you can almost see a reflection in it! To put it simply, people like shiny things! It's no lie, I do, you do. We all like shiny things. Our eyes are attracted by them, naturally. We're like barracudas! (They like shiny things too.)

The full color print really pops right out of it. It's almost like a cool, 3D effect. I love the bright color choices with this greeting card, and it won't be forgotten by the customers. Yow!!!

A full range of color…in the land of foil!

Remember that awesome platinum ticket card we just blogged about yesterday? The one that used sharp, contrasting colors, black and silver to make quite a big splash for its client?

Well, Luice Design is has got a new product under its belt to show off with, full color foil printing trading cards.

With these cards you really get the idea of their ability and range with the full color foil printing process. The possibilities are virtually limitless with this style which, I think is becoming a new industry standard. In just a few years time, I've seen foil go from specialty product to one that is so popular I'm seeing it used more and more and Luice Design is definitely paving the way forward by showing us stuff like this!

The best things in life are…THICK!

Bigger is better right? Well, in this instance...Thicker is better!

Here's another great example of excellent taste from Luice Design. This particular customer is using a design that hasn't changed much over the years, but it works so well because of how classy and simple it is. It really doesn't need to be changed, especially when it's being paired with the 16 point matte business card product. This is a great choice for printing such a timeless design because that's exactly what such a strong, bold thick card is. Timeless!

Just look at the details in this close-up. You can almost feel the smooth and thick beauty of 16pt matte in this photo. That texture! Oh!

Well done, folks!

Shine!

Shine on you crazy diamond!!! The eternal words of Pink Floyd really do apply here. Take a looky at this gem!

Foil-Business-Card-Luice-Design-Black-Shiny-Silver-Ticket

Luice Design's offers up yet another stunning sample of what you can do with the power of full color foil printing.

Taking the colors out of the picture in this case was a really bold move and it worked out beautifully. This card is also unique because of the way they used foil to take up the majority of the card...and not just on the text. You don't see too much of these but I reckon that's going to chance with this beauty.

Can you imagine, a line of people waiting to get into the venue, flashing these things in their hands. No one will be able to keep their eyes off of them! Great choice for that client, who is going to have one hell of a party.

I wish I were invited! I want that ticket!
