Gettin “thicky” with it.

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

I'll say this plain and simple, nobody likes thin business cards.

Sure, there's nothing wrong with ordering 12 pt business cards. We do it all the time. But in all honesty, a person who is serious about their design and their business card should opt to be thick. So many times, I've been the recipient of a thin business card and it basically just crumples up in your hand. It's also really easy to tear up....which is a big downer!

Luice Design prefers to print nice regal designs on this incredibly thick stock, the 16pt. matte finished business card.

This is the thickest stock you can get in the world of printing business cards. No other paper printed business card will come quite as close as this one.

I can also say that getting a paper cut from one of these guys is probably one of the most painful kind of paper cuts there is! So watch it! You'll poke someone's eye out!

Forgetful this holiday season? No worries!

In my family, I am notorious for sending out cards in a timely fashion. That is....never on time. Yeah...and I know a lot of you are like that too so don't even pretend like you aren't!

Every year I might be late and so you know what I've learned? It's never too late to send cards! Especially when they are your very own custom printed holiday card.

Luice Design has got you covered with this!

Cute doggy. This holiday card gets printed on a lovely 14pt. stock, nice and thick. It's scored by machine for easy folding, printed with a UV coat on the outside and most people prefer to leave the UV coat off the inside so you can sign your own cards. Even better still is that you can order 5.25" x 7.25" matching envelopes that will fit perfectly with these cards.

Your family and friends will surely forgive your tardiness if you bless them with a custom holiday card like this!

Glitz!

Luice Design is taking the sparkly awesomeness of foil process business cards to a whole new level.

Just check out this piece of work!

If you look at the cursive writing on this particular business card, you can see how the foil ink shines and sparkles in the light. It's truly a sight to be seen and to get the full effect, you should see it in person. This is one of their most popular products, which people often order when they want their cards to showcase a real glitzy sort of attitude. With foil process, you can select the areas of the card you'd like to have the foil. Designers know CMYK...well this is CMYKF with the F standing for Foil! SWEET.

All these cards get printed on a thick 14pt stock too...you wouldn't want to put a nice glittery design like this on cheap thin stock now would you?

Yet another awesome combo…SPOT ON!

Let me tell you about what you're getting into when you decide to get business cards like this. You get the sparkle awesomeness of metallic ink and the sleek-looking shine of a spot UV coat...applied to select areas on your card. SICK.

It's like the best of both worlds going on in one tiny little business card. When you hand this to someone, they're definitely going to have your attention. The first time I saw it, I stared at it for like...I dunno, 5 minutes. Just staring. It's that brilliant, dudes! For reals!

Keeping it real, big foil style!

Luice-Design-Lake-Worth-Florida-Getting-Busy-Business-Card-Printers

Well, as you can probably tell from that photo, things are getting pretty busy this time of the year at Luice Design. Obviously, that's a wonderful thing and it means that we have some awesome stuff to show off.

One of my absolute favorites of all time is a new take on an industry standard business card. Full Color Foil Process Printing. Doesn't that just sound hot? I think so...

Of course, there's nothing wrong with going the easy route and getting a standard full color matte or UV coat....but if that's how you feel, like you want something simple and easy...then I really think you should consider going the extra mile with foil.

Full color foil printing when combined with UV coating produces amazing results, which you can see below!

What did I tell you!? Look at how totally sweet these babies are? You get both the holographic reflection of foil printing with the reliable shine of a UV coating. It's blowing my MIND! For someone who has a rich design like these cards above, the foil/UV route is a choice pick. You can see the brilliance of their shine in the photos...just wait until you get one in your hands...and then imagine them in your clients' or customers' hands? Starting to sound nice, eh?

Well quit your drooling and head on over to Luice Design to see what they can do for you!

Stayin’ classy with foil stamping.

Business-Cards-Gold-Foil-Embossed-Classy-Luice-Design-Stamping

Just like Ron Burgundy says in the movie Anchorman, you gotta stay classy...WORLD!

Seriously, sometimes you just need to be classy....that's why Luice Design specializes in this fantastic ultra classy Foil Stamping business cards. You might notice that the link this takes you to doesn't exactly sound like what I'm talking about...these cards are just full foil stamping...not a bad choice either. To have your card stamped with gold foil is a pretty customized option so you'll probably want to call those people over at Luice up to discuss your design and get a custom quote.

This photo I posted is a great example of how foil stamping can take your card to another level. Here we have two nearly identical cards for the same business. In the top, someone tried to mimic the look of gold in the text and in the logo. They did a decent job with a nice golden gradient and a lens flare effect to add that sparkle. Looks like gold. In fact, I would say that's as close to gold as you're going get in a flat-printed full color business card.

Then...the company decided to get hooked up with Luice Design's Full Color Stamping option and I mean seriously.... just look at the difference. It's totally HOT and yet manages to stay ultra classy. Real golden foil imprinted right on the card. This awesomeness adds an element of texture that your clients can actually feel. This photo illustrates how the logo pops out of the card. The foil printing really shines in the light too, as you can see it shining in that light. It's not an effect! It's real shine.

If you really need to outshine the competition and stand out yet stay classy and noble...this is a perfect option for your business.

METAL! METAL!!! MEEETALLL!!!!!

Metal-Business-Cards-Stuck-In-Wall-Luice-Design-Laser-Etched

Lately I've been on a metal kick. A few friends of mine started playing Dungeons and Dragons recently and I've totally made fun of them for it. That was, until they started a friggin' METAL-THEMED D&D PARTY AT A BAR.

Once they explained it to me, I think I'm looking at D&D in a whole new light. Picture this.

A DJ spins Classic metal, Black metal and Doom metal (Black metal is like Metal on steroids, super epic songs about glory and crazy awesome stuff like Vikings and whatnot....Doom is another subgenre of metal that's like slow, stoner rock and metal combined so it's really droning and just all around awesome...you'd have to hear it...plus it's called Doom Metal...hello? Rad.)

Everybody plays crazy metal-themed D&D games (battle axes...fire breathing dragons...barbarian viking dwarves...blood...valhalla...huge beards...zombies...evil kings...more battle axes...giant swords...dude, those are all screaming METAL).

Everybody drinks lots of beer...which is of coarse...you know....pretty metal. I think you get the picture...Metal rules...

So why not have METAL BUSINESS CARDS? Yes....who needs paper when you can have freaking metal business cards that stick into the wall like that picture, above. Luice Design has gone all out METAL with these crazy, lazer etched, custom cut cards and you can get them and they're not as expensive as you think. Seriously!

This video by Red Fang rules and it pretty much sums up the awesomeness of mixing METAL rock & roll with something nerdy like D&D.

(it might not be 100% safe for work because there's blood, lots of beer-drinking and some mild swearing. It's not that bad but... Don't way I didn't warn you!)

This full color foil business card turned out great. It's pretty hard to get a decent photo of the foil process because the bling bling happens when you move the card around. We'll get you guys some video soon. Enjoy!
