Embossed Foil Stamped Business Cards

Foil-Embossed-Business-Card-Luice

Today we're going to talk about embossed foil stamped business cards. Well we're not really going to talk about it, I'm just going to post pictures of a card we recently did that has gold foil embossing on a super glossy business card. Pretty slick looking business card.

Featured in the photos is a temporary card the customer ordered from us with a foil effect reproduced in flat ink. It gives the illusion of foil at a fraction of the price.

When there's a strict budget to be met you can always pick some options like that. You could even go for the full color foil process or the metallics unlimited option as well.

Here's an old design Christofer Johnson, the owner of Luice Design did for a magician. Very cool stuff. These are custom sized business cards printed with PMS copper metallic ink and black on a dull coat 14pt stock.

Hardcore Metal Business Cards – by Luice Design

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

I've mentioned how bad ass our Luice Design Metal Business Cards are many times. There's no denying it either. I do want to bring up that they are slightly dangerous. We were bored around the office at the end of Friday and had a contest to see who could peg one of ours into the wall.
I won.... naturally.

Check it out... Another design blog picked up our design and gave us some props!

We had fun with a flashlight too. We're all kinds of creative here at Luice Design Full Colour Printing

Luice Design. The original

Check this out. Chris found the FIRST EVER set of Luice Design business cards. With die cutting and metallic red and silver ink. Back in the days when those were the most pimped out options you could get this business card was on fire it was so hot.

These probably cost a pretty penny back in the 90's when Chris first started Luice Design. Now you can get these cards without having to break open the piggy bank.

Silk Business Cards. Very Nice

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

More tattoo artist business cards today. This time, instead of foil we have a nice silk finish. No foil stamping just regular flat full color printing.

Sadly the silk finish isn't something that really picks up in photos all that great. You have to feel it to know. You know what that means? I means you should head over to the silk finished business card page of Luice Design Full Colour Printing and pick some up right now!

Mel @ Ink Link tattoos drew the Jackalope on this card and I'm seriously considering letting her tattoo it on my foot. That's how awesome it is!

Waterproof Business Cards

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

Check out this noise!

Once again Luice Design Full Color Printing brings you a product that is just too bad ass for you to NOT have! What we have here are actual paper business cards, about a 10PT stock, coated in a super thin plastic laminate, making them waterproof, tear proof and unbelievably resilient. You can NOT tear these cards.

Just check out the photos!

Getting a cheaper price without sacrificing quality

Friday, August 14th, 2009

Recently we were contacted by a company who wanted to have their business cards reprinted. No problem there. However, when we received the sample of what they wanted, along with what they were looking to spend we knew that the two wouldn't match up. It's an unfortunate situation but it does come up.

I was able to give them a price for the cards based on exactly what they wanted and, as predicted it was too high. No fear though! Here at Luice Design Full Colour Printing our goal is to get the customer something that will make them happy. I showed them our Spot Metallic Silver cards with a matte finish and they absolutely loved them the concept.

The spot silver metallic ink in place of the foil stamping worked out perfectly and was a much much cheaper option compared to the stamping.
Bottom line here is that occasionally you may need to change the options on what you want to find a price that agrees with you, but this doesn't at all mean you have to sacrifice the design or quality of your business card.

Check out how hot these 16PT matte Spot Metallic Silver business cards came out!

Foil stamped business cards have limits

Monday, August 10th, 2009

Ladies and gentlemen today I would like to talk to you about something that is important not only to me, but to you too. Design.

Luice Design Full Colour Printing wants to help all you graphic designers get the best printing for your designs, whether we are the ones who designed or not. You'd be amazed at how many very very talented designers out there who have sent us some great stuff to have printed in various formats.

What I want to talk about today is the foil stamp. When designing something you'd like to have foil stamped you have to remember that very fine detail isn't the best idea. You have to remember that a foil stamp is literally a stamp that is pressed into the card using a metal die. Any very fine detail in your design will be lost during this process and probably not look all that good. Unfortunate but true.

If you have a design you want to be foil stamped and it's a very involved design, I'd suggest that you try the full colour printing foil process instead. It's still foil, just done in a different way. The foil is printed onto the card in the shape of your design and then the inks are printed on top of everything so anything that doesn't have foil below it will just be normal printed ink and the foil will stand out quite nicely. Finish it off with a glossy UV coating and you're all set!

Another suggestion would be to check out the full color metallic ink printing. It's not as shiny and sparkly as the foil process but it's very very cool looking. It's a little more tasteful and reserved than the full color foil process if you ask me. You can have it done in full color or as just a spot color depending on your design needs. The metallic ink is only offered with a matte finish and on nice thick 14PT or 16PT stock.
