You know...I talk so much about Luice Design's awesome business cards and flyers...but there's a lot that they do that I haven't mentioned too much. Take for example, these amazing CLOSER magazine covers.
They've got so many different new printing techniques going on they're totally revitalizing a magazine that's been a West Palm Beach staple for years. Well, they're really turning heads now these provocative covers. Absolutely stunning!
How would a customer order something like this? With so many different things going on. Spot UV. Embossed printing. Special ink and paper. Metallic ink.
It's pretty self explanatory and if you have trouble finding a page on the web site that fits your need, just use the custom form and someone will get in touch with you to discuss your options and next steps.
You know the old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." It certainly applies to a lot of different situations in life. In the printing business, it's no different. That's why the classic 16 pt. matte full color business card has withstood the test of time and reigns supreme as the ultimate standard in business card printing.
You've seen the photos, now check out this sweet video Luice Design produced, showcasing one of their latest samples of this fine choice for your business card.
Can you see the beast? That thickness as the card turns in the light? It's the thickest business card you're gunna get. And it's worth it's weight in paper!
Ahhh!!! I love a good pun. Okay, that was a terrible pun. But, whatever! You can't go wrong with a pun...that's what I always say!
But without really knowing what I'm talking about...it might not make sense, right? Well then, my internet friends...let me explain it to you in this sweet new video from the offices at Luice Design HQ!
It almost looks like a freakin' hologram! But it's not. These seemingly ordinary 16 pt matte business cards are quite special in that they've received a special treatment of Spot UV printing. One can do no wrong with a little touch like this and if you're looking for a very unique card that's well within an affordable price range...even for dirt poor folks like myself! These are the way to go!
The technique is quite simple really. Part of the card, in this case...the logo...is given the UV coating which is often applied to an entire card to give it the shiny, glossy look we're all used to. The effect of applying it to specific areas makes it sort of jump right out in the light. Your design comes alive! You can even print colorless, with the spot UV only, which gives it an eerie ghostly effect. I've seen it done before. Super hot.
I just love the way that blue shines and reveals the logo!
If you look at Luice Design's website, you'll notice that they have a ton of options for all your printing and marketing needs. Well, what if your project doesn't quite fit into a single category? What if your project needs multiple options? Or just isn't plain listed?
Such was the case with this guy's business card. He wanted a lifesize replica of an iPhone for his Apple Computer tech solutions business.
One of the newest sample out of Luice Design's studio is elegant, simple and classy. All things I like. You might think otherwise based on the high amount of awesomely flashy and loud-looking samples I'm always blogging about but I always say...never underestimate the power of a simplicity and elegance. You can really do no wrong with a card like this. Beautiful, stunning, custom engraving on a linen stock.
This card says it all and doesn't rely on any kind of design...except for some very basic calligraphy font. People are always trying to do this and it's so easy to screw up. That's why you go to Luice Design, sillies! The engraving is a powerful technique and it really brings out a nice richness that you won't get with any other printing technique. For this particular client's needs, I wouldn't have recommended any other printing option.
Speaking of option, this isn't exactly something we see everyday, which makes this another good example of how to use the custom quote form at Luice Design's site. It will give you the opportunity to say exactly what you need so that the printers can get you an accurate quote based on your descriptions.
30mm (or 30 "mil" - short for millimeter- as we like to say in the business) is the thickest plastic card you can get and it's the same thickness as standard credit cards. If you've got the budget for this, and it's not as expensive as you think, you can have Luice Design create and produce some awesome cards which you'll find have a variety of uses in today's world.
Take this one featured...it's a VIP card. Your customers are probably paying a fee for this membership so you'll want to give them their money's worth with this guy. Thick, incredibly durable and beautiful. This guy stays in the wallet...because you never know when you're gunna want to pop into the club and impress some people by flashing this bad boy at the door for instant VIP service.
I'd like to remind you of all the incredible printing techniques offered by Luice Design. If you check out their site, you can see several different types of options for your printing needs...whatever they may be. Now...what if you're the kind of person who likes to mix it up? What if one category just doesn't work?
What if you need...two? three? four?!
We got you covered...
Take this crazy awesomeness for example. Black foil. Silver foil. Black paper? Whoa! Sounds crazy...yes. But not for Luice Design!
This is the kind of instance in where you can use the Custom Printing Quote Form. This form will allow you to describe your needs and help the designers and printers get started on turning your vision into reality.
Our proud designers over at Luice Design have a little something they'd like to show off. Their sweet, uncanny die-cut designing skills. These new samples are fresh from the printers!
Die-cutting cards or flyers isn't new, but our designers really have the skill to create an awesome look to go perfectly with the die-cut.
For example, these die cut business cards I'm showing you above... you've got the heart poking out with the heart-shaped light-bulb...very original! It's not uncommon to see circles and shapes poking out of a regular rectangular shape but to do it like this is just ...well it takes talent to envision that and execute it like they did!
The first image of the black business card uses a really creative cut. Not just rounded...but lots of curves to give the card a very unique antique/vintage look. Awesome.
I've often thought that it might be hard to get an idea of all the cool things Luice Design can do with their printing, by simply looking at photos. That's why I'm showing you some videos recently published that display in full motion video, the powerful effects of these awesome new printing techniques they're using.
This particular card is showcasing three different techniques. No ink used on the front side. Simply awesome.
And while we're on the subject of videos...here's another one! Some words of advice...intense, yes. Is the dude kind of a jerk? Definitely. Is he totally and absolutely right about what he's saying about business card design. Ohhh yeah.
And just because this is one my all time favorite movies, the famous "business card scene" from American Pyscho.
Luice Design has a new product their selling and it's really really cool. What a dumb way to describe it but I can't think of anything else to say except just that.
Magnetic business cards! Stick 'em on your fridge or anywhere else. I know that's a good idea for me because I'm constantly going to the fridge. This is perfect for restaurant or other food-type businesses. The kind of thing you want your customers to slap on the fridge so they can call you to order food.
It doesn't have to be limited to food-based businesses though. Think of all the possibilities. Appliance repair. Bars. Clubs. Parties. Anything! These cards will stick...literally...in your customer's mind.
Plus you can use 'em to hang other stuff up on the fridge. A kid's drawing, a bill, whatever. Your business card will become a tool that's going to stick around (haha I love puns) for a long time.
